Dr. Randy Chase joins AI2ES as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at OU

Dr. Randy Chase will be joining AI2ES as a Postdoctoral Research Associate based at the University of Oklahoma. He will begin on January 19th. His Ph.D. work applied neural networks to create a novel radar remote sensing retrieval for the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission’s Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (GPM-DPR). Although his past research was heavily focused on radar remote sensing, he will apply his expertise in machine learning and meteorology to the development of novel physically-based XAI methods for AI2ES. Dr. Chase earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in Meteorology and Water Resources from the State University of New York (SUNY), The College at Brockport.
